April Info

BE AWARE!

waco
Tomorrow is April 19th. April 19th is a significant date; several noteworthy (and tragic) events have taken place on April 19th:
  • The Waco, Texas Branch Davidian Siege fire
  • Columbine High School Shooting
  • World Trade Center Bombing
  • Boston Bombing
  • Virginia Tech Massacre
It might be a good idea to exercise some extra awareness this week due to the propensity for society's malefactors to pick April 19th as a day to cause mayhem. Better safe than sorry!

RECEIVERS ARE IN!

A0001
If you missed it from our last newsletter, the Adaptive Defense Armory AR15 receivers are in. If you want a custom AR build, these are a forged, mil-spec (with the exception of full-auto capability) lower. Although I am working on a custom carbine that will feature our new handguards, I have a good inventory of other components from Aero Precision that can be used for custom builds in almost any configuration you have in mind. I can cut you some deals on these items because I'm trying to liquidate some inventory to fund other projects that will be announced later...

SPEAKING OF OUR CARBINES...

ADAcarbine0002
This is the very first ADC-15 carbine with our upper and lower and the prototype handguard on its maiden voyage at Los Alamos Sportsmen's Club last weekend. The final design tweaks have been made and they are in-production. Once the machining is done, they will need to go to the anodizer then I should have them sometime this summer.

VORTEX STRIKE EAGLE 1-8X24 FFP REVIEW

20220405_171137
Shortly after I moved to New Mexico, I became a contributing writer and gear reviewer for Spotterup.com. My most recent review was for Vortex Optics new Strike Eagle 1-8X24 First Focal Plane optic. This makes for a great budget carbine optic that is very capable at both close and intermediate ranges. Eurooptic has these available for $599.99, which is about as cheap as you are going to get a quality first focal plane optic. These have a fairly reasonable bullet drop compensating (BDC) reticle. I prefer a milliradian-based reticle personally, but if you don't want to have to remember drop charts for your carbine, BDC makes sense.

DEFENSIVE PISTOL ELEMENTS LITE CLASS

DSCF1246
This class is only 2 weeks away on Saturday, April 30th. If you are signed up for this class, be on the lookout for an informational email that will be sent to you next weekend.

Typically a 2-day class, I have squeezed the curriculum down to a 1-day, 500 rounds (approximately) class.
If you are coming to this class, please make sure you are coming prepared, you will need:
  • Handgun
  • Extra magazines or speedloaders (at least 3, but more is better)
  • 500 rds of quality practice ammo
  • A good strong-side belt holster (collapsing canvas or thin leather holsters won't work - make sure your holster conforms to our S.M.A.R.T. criteria)
  • Magazine pouch
  • PPE and range kit (a hat is recommended, but make sure it doesn't interfere with your hearing protection)
  • Water/snacks/lunch
This class is currently full, but if you are interested in taking a class like this, let me know. If I can get enough folks together, I will try to schedule another one of these for sometime in the late summer or fall. This class is held on the LASC Alpha pistol range, which is a little easier for us to reserve than the rifle range.

AMMUNITION SITUATION

Ammo prices and availability continue to improve. SGammo.com has CCI Blazer Brass 9mm ammo available for $369/1000. That's a pretty good price for practice ammo right now.

Outlets like SGammo and Wideners order massive quantities of ammo and their business is based on volume, so they can almost always beat my prices. If you want specialty match ammo, then I can be a little competitive probably. I want you to get the best deal, if I can't get you the best deal on ammo, I'll tell you.

HAVE A GUN TO SELL?

As a subscriber to this email, if you have any firearms you would like to sell, let me know. I would be happy to advertise them in this newsletter to other locals that are ADC alumni or current ADA customers. That keeps them "in the family" so to speak, and I would be happy to handle the transfer which is only $10 for subscribers and ADC alumni.

If you are looking for some tune-up on any shooting skills, don't hesitate to get in touch with me and we can set something up. I still have several M&P handguns, both compact and full-size, and some Glocks in inventory. I have a LOT of AR parts from bolts to stocks to competition-grade triggers and other accessories. If you need AR parts, send me an email, I may be able to save you some dough.

That wraps up another one of our updates. Until the next one, be safe and be a good ambassador for firearms rights.

"When the Cambrian measures were forming, They promised perpetual peace.
They swore, if we gave them our weapons, that the wars of the tribes would cease.
But when we disarmed They sold us and delivered us bound to our foe,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: “Stick to the Devil you know.”"

when wars and wounds shall cease--

And showed his neighbors peace..."
