Specifically designed to meet and exceed state requirements to renew your New Mexico concealed handgun license
ONLINE CLASS – Due to State responses to Covid in March 2020, we are able to offer the classroom portion of this class in an online format. The majority of class time is completed via web-conference, followed by in-person individual or small-group range sessions for pistol skills instruction and the required qualification shoot. The shooting portion of this class will be held on Forest land at Thompson’s Ridge
- Firearms – New Mexico requires licensees to qualify with a firearm of at least .32 caliber, and up the the largest caliber you intend to carry. We bring a variety of firearms to this class including semi-auto and revolver in up to .45 caliber. You are welcome to use our firearms to qualify with if you wish. Due to unprecedented demand in 2021, ammunition has become difficult to obtain and prices have skyrocketed. Normally ammunition is provided as part of the class cost, however, we have been forced to add additional charges for qualifying with our firearms. One qualification is included in class cost, additional qualifications with our firearms/ammo are $25. Available firearms for qualification include .45 caliber semi-automatic and .45 caliber revolver as well as 9mm semi-auto and .38 revolver. Due to the potential for damage, we do not permit the use of outside ammunition in our firearms.
- Ammunition – round count for this class varies, but if you are bringing your own firearms, we recommend bringing at least 50 to 100 rounds of high quality practice ammo for each firearm you intend to qualify with. *steel jacketed (Wolf, Tula, etc…) brands are not recommended as they cause safety issues with steel targets and backstops. Please make sure you are bringing the correct type and caliber of ammo for your firearm.
- Personal Protective Equipment (hearing and eye protection) will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own.
- Appropriate clothing for the weather – outdoor range for approximately 1-2 hours.
