For Your Information...

We have noticed an increase in traffic and inquiries recently and finally figured out that a new company by the name of "Adaptiv Defense," has been launched by Lucas Botkin (formerly of T.Rex Arms). We are not now and never have been affiliated with Mr. Botkin, but we wish him success in his new endeavor, even if he did pick a very similar business name. Integrity and honesty have always been the cornerstone of our business doctrine and the last thing we would want is someone purchasing from us due to a case of mistaken identity. So... if you recently subscribed because you were looking for "Adaptiv Defense," this is our official disclaimer that that isn't us. All the same, we welcome you here and we invite you to explore our products and classes. If you would like to learn more about us, please check out our "About Us" page.

A TRIP TO NAMMO RAUFOSS

I just returned from Norway for a visit to Nammo headquarters in Raufoss. If you have been in the modern shooting community any length of time, you may have heard of the so-called "Raufoss Round." This is referring to the .50 caliber Mk211 Mod 0 multipurpose projectile designed for anti‑materiel use which is manufactured by Nammo. It’s one of the most advanced and destructive .50‑caliber rounds in military service today. I had the opportunity to fire some of these myself and see their effects first-hand while involved in some R&D work for the U.S. DOE and they are impressive.
The Mk211 combines three effects in one projectile:
- Armor‑piercing tungsten core
- High‑explosive charge
- Incendiary component

The Mk211’s design allows it to punch through armor, detonate inside the target - maximizing internal damage, and ignite flammable materials, especially fuel. This layered effect is why it’s considered the “crown jewel” of .50‑caliber sniper ammunition.

I was at Nammo for other reasons, but for shooters and ordnance enthusiasts, I thought you might find this interesting. Other than that, about all I can say is that Norway is beautiful country with good food and friendly people.

SECOND AMENDMENT NEWS

Not much change on Second-Amendment issues since the last newsletter, but:
The U.S. Department of Education awarded nearly $1M for Second Amendment education programs. ATF signaled a move toward digitizing NFA Form 20, potentially easing interstate transport of NFA items, and the DOJ announced a new “Second Amendment Rights Section” within the department.
As of January 1, 2026, the $200 tax on Suppressors, Short Barreled Rifles, and a few other NFA-regulated weapons goes away.
