SEPTEMBER ADC NEWS

This month I have a relatively short newsletter for you. I have been delaying this newsletter for several reasons - including current events, and a cross-country move. I must first address current events such as the murder of Charlie Kirk on September 10th and Iryna Zarutska who was brutally slain on a commuter train. These acts, whether inspired by individual ideas or the ideologies of a group, exemplify the depths of cowardice. Regardless of your politics, The United States Constitution as a safeguard of our liberties begins with the First Amendment which includes prohibitions on Congress establishing a state religion and abridging the freedom of speech. It is my belief The Founders prioritized the free exercise of religion, speech, and the press to ensure ideas could be expressed without the violent consequences suffered by those who challenged church and state prior to the Age of Enlightenment. These are not mere privileges granted by the caprice of rulers, but sacred guarantees forged in the crucible of human struggle and defended by the blood of those who dared to think, to speak, and to worship according to the dictates of their conscience. Prior to these these protections, the lash, the dungeon, and the pyre were the weapons of authority to crush dissent, to silence the voice of reason, and to smother the spark of logic and inquiry. Current events are showing us the effects of individuals and factions lacking the fortitude to engage in honest debate, to meet argument with argument, to trust in the strength of truth to prevail in the marketplace of ideas, who are unable to persuade so they must impose.

These actions impact us individually and as a nation. It is important that we look close and understand the nature of this adversary - which is the ideology of intolerance labeled as tolerance. We have no ability to peacefully negotiate with a doctrine of might-makes-right and violence as a response to logic. Understand that people who choose this path are playing the game by different rules and if you are an obstacle or represent what they hate or fear, you are a target. Our attempts at reason, logic, and debate are not able to be processed by the person who is willing to enforce their ideas with threats and violence. Political concerns aside, your individual self-defense plan should take this into account. The volume just got turned up and we can expect to see more of these savage acts until there is greater accountability.

It is time to refresh and increase your level of awareness and preparedness - physically, mentally, and spiritually. Eyes off your phone in public, know who is around you and what they are doing. Revisit your moral code if it's been a while and think about your defensive strategies and tactics in light of these current events. In the meantime I also advise questioning the narratives that we are seeing following these events. How is the media spinning it? Is it really freedom of the press or are we seeing corporate media being used to manipulate public opinion?. Some of the news reports just don't add up and I am not satisfied with the explanations we are being given.

My last few weeks have been hectic. In August I was in 10 states, traveled over 5000 miles by road, and even more by plane. I started a new job, moved to a new state, and lugged literally tons of boxes. Along the way, I did get to Badlands Tactical in Oklahoma for an Armorer class.

I really enjoy this class. It's a chance to dig deep into the engineering and function of all the bits and pieces in the AR.
