EASTER MESSAGE & APRIL 19 PRECAUTIONS

In this newsletter, we will be talking about April 19th concerns, upcoming classes, the legal landscape, and more!

APRIL 19 - A NEXUS DATE

April 19th has historically been a date of significance, often associated with events that raise security concerns. For example, it marks the first shots of the American Revolution at Lexington and Concord, the beginning of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, the anniversary of the Waco, Texas Branch Davidian Siege's tragic conclusion in 1993, not to mention the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995. The Columbine School Killers, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, originally planned their attack to coincide with the anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing on April 19th, but logistical issues led them to carry it out a day later. Their manifestos and writings revealed that they sought to create a catastrophic event that would surpass previous acts of violence, including the Oklahoma City bombing. The choice of April 20th also coincided with Adolf Hitler's birthday, which some have speculated might have influenced Harris, given his documented interest in Nazi ideology. These events have led to heightened awareness among security-conscious individuals about the potential for extremist activities or large-scale protests on this date.

This year, April 19th is also set to feature nationwide protests organized by the 50501 Movement (50 States, 50 Protests, 1 Movement), which is mobilizing against various policies of the Trump administration. What could possibly go wrong?

In ADC's main states, the 50501 protests are planned in the following locations:
  • Idaho: Boise, Idaho Falls, and Coeur d'Alene.
  • New Mexico: Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and Las Cruces.
  • Ohio: Columbus, Cleveland, and Cincinnati.
These areas can be expected to see increased law enforcement presence and possible counter-protests. Keep this in mind heading into the weekend and if you will be going to, through, or near these areas, be on the lookout for large gatherings or blocked traffic on roads and highways. Getting trapped by traffic or a crowd can expose you to greater risk for harassment, vandalism, or violence.

MAY 3 DEFENSIVE CARBINE CLASS

Saturday, May 3, we will be holding our first live class of the year at Fremont County Sportsman's Club in St. Anthony, Idaho. This is our Defensive Carbine Elements 1-day class. It involves a lot of movement and shooting from positions like kneeling, sitting, prone, and a few others.
There are a few open spots in this class yet, you can sign up on the "classes" section of the website.

LEGAL LANDSCAPE

Some new federal gun legislation has been introduced:
  1. H.R.2650 - End Gun Violence Act of 2025: This bill, introduced in the House, seeks to prohibit the sale or transfer of firearms or ammunition to individuals convicted of violent misdemeanors within the past five years. It also defines "violent misdemeanor" to include offenses involving physical force, deadly weapons, or intent to cause physical injury.
  2. S.1370 - GOSAFE Act: Introduced in the Senate, this sweeping legislation aims to ban most semi-automatic firearms with detachable magazines. It targets firearms based on their mechanical principles, such as gas-operated systems, while exempting certain low-capacity firearms.
Both bills face significant challenges in passing. President Trump's administration has made protecting the Second Amendment a cornerstone of its agenda, as evidenced by Attorney General Pam Bondi's recent announcement of the Second Amendment Task Force. This initiative aims to safeguard gun rights and challenge policies perceived as infringing on constitutional protections.
Given this strong pro-gun stance, any federal legislation proposing stricter gun control measures is likely to face significant opposition—not just in Congress but also from the administration itself. A veto from President Trump would be almost certain, and achieving a veto-proof majority in the current political climate, with a narrowly divided Congress, seems highly improbable.
The administration's repeal of the ATF's "zero tolerance" policy and its broader efforts to roll back gun regulations further underscore its commitment to defending gun rights. This context makes the passage of new gun control legislation an uphill battle. Introducing this legislation with little chance of passing is pandering to the anti-gun political base at the taxpayer's expense.

State-level legislation is hung up in the courts right now, but the lawyers from various pro-Second Amendment organizations are keeping the pressure on and can use every bit of our support. We have a real chance right now to fix some of the interpretive issues that anti-gunners have used to infringe on our rights as guaranteed in The Constitution, but only if we keep pushing with our calls, letters, and financial support.

ARMORY

I have some complete uppers and handguard/gasblock sets available. If you have a 16" carbine, consider adding one of our 18" or 20" complete uppers to your collection. An extra upper with a good scope on it gives you enhanced long-range capabilities and accuracy without the need to purchase a complete rifle. Uppers and handguards are not regulated like lower receivers or complete firearms, so they can be purchased online and shipped directly to you. Swapping the upper receiver on your carbine is as easy as pushing out 2 pins. Check them out here: ARMORY
